So much to say...

And just not enough time to say it all!  I think this might be the longest I've ever gone without blogging.  Trust me it is not because I don't have things to blog about, I DO!  Here are some of the highlights from the last month:

#1--Crewing/Spectating for Mr. Pi's  Miwok 100k race.

This picture is my favorite from the day, look at that giant smile he had at the finish line! I am so incredibly proud of my amazing husband.

Here are some other photos from the day...

Mr. Pi definitely had the most crew members of any runner I saw!

#2--I did a half marathon with some awesome California ladies!

Here is us at the start line.  And our bling from the race.

Not a lot to report from the "race" which I put in quotes because it was not a race.  The race was super well organized--water stations were stocked, which was necessary as it was like 75 degrees at mile 3.  The course was a little boring but for San Francisco FLAT which is a rarity.  If you live in the bay and want an all-women's event to race, this is a good one.

Here's a funny one from lunch after my "race"...look at Mr. Pi's medal from his 100k (62 MILE race) and mine from my teeny half marathon.

#3--I spent a week in San Diego for a work training.

Here was my hotel bathroom.

While my work training took up most of the daytime I was able to get in a lot of good training sessions.  With long evenings, a couple of free afternoons, no home responsibilities to tend to, outdoor swimming, a rental bike and beautiful sunshine-y weather every day I took advantage and made it a little mini-camp.  I ended up with over 15 hours of training for the week.

One of the two outdoor pools I got to swim in!

Ice bath in the ocean!

#4--House and Garden

These are pictures from a beautiful sunshine-y spring day...the flowers were blooming and we planted some new hanging plants for the season.

I can't wait for these roses to bloom.  I love roses!  They were blooming all over the place in San Diego, come on northern weather, make my roses flourish.

#5 --Jen's baby shower!

The shower is just around the corner and I've been planning away!  It's going to be great, can't wait to post pictures from the big day.  She and I are still good running buddies, here is a pic from last weekend...Jen, me and little gummy bear baby.

#6--Sponsors and gear.

These shoes just arrived today, I can't wait to try them out.  I'm anxiously awaiting my race kit.  Trust me, when it gets here you will all see pictures!

#7--Race schedule.

1.  I'll be doing a larger post on this but I am considering dropping to the olympic at Rev in July and going for a half in August.  Another month of training (hopefully less rainy training) and frankly, an easier course are the two biggest factors going into my decision making process right now.

2.  I'm signed up for an open water swim, which I'm excited about it!

3.  I'm also signed up for another half marathon in June.  I'll be running with my sister-in-law...it'll be her first half!  I'm so excited to run with her.  I think she has officially caught the running bug, she mentioned the "m" word in a text the other day, that's right--marathon!
4.  I'm also on my work's Hood to Coast team.  Lots of exciting prospects this season.

  1. I knew you must have been putting in some crazy training hours since you hadn't updated for a while. I the medal comparison picture. Too funny. If they are going to have the name 'diva' in a race name, I guess they have to live up to it with the bling. Glad you had fun!

Sounds like this summer is going to be HUGE for you!! Can't wait to hear all about it and live vicariously through you!

  3. Hi Alissa,
Love the bling! I've recently (two weeks ago) decided to train for my first half marathon and blog about it as I go (21kforchange.blogspot.ca). I've decided, as a part of my training, to get in contact with other runner-bloggers.
    Cheers!
